There are loads of amazing movies that are being released over the next few months but Gifted is one I am super excited to see and not just because it’s starring Chris Evans, however it’s a pretty good selling feature. This movie will speak to all parents and guardians, it will tug at your heart strings and address the fear I’m sure we all have in common when it comes to our kids, we just don’t want to screw them up.
Gifted is the story of Mary (McKenna Grace) a child prodigy being raised by her Uncle Frank (Chris Evans) in a coastal Florida town. Frank wants to send Mary to a regular school so she can make friends and have a normal childhood however his plans are foiled when the seven-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. Octavia Spencer plays Roberta, Frank and Mary’s landlady and best friend. Jenny Slate is Mary’s teacher, Bonnie, a young woman whose concern for her student develops into a connection with her uncle as well.
The movie is set to hit select theaters on April 7 but we have 5 pairs of tickets to giveaway to an exclusive premier event at Cineplex International Village in Vancouver on March 29. Watch the trailer here and then enter to join us at the screening.
