Fall is always a busy time for the kids, with the return to classes, extra curricular activities and the influx of birthday invites that seem to start on the first day of school. Before you know it Halloween is upon us and then Christmas, time suddenly takes on warp speed 10 once September hits.
Parents schedules suddenly are no longer their own with the return to chauffeur duties and homework, practices and the plethora of school related commitments that get heaped onto their full time work schedules.
Fall should be as much about the parents as it is about the kids. Kids get all of the latest gadgets and gizmos, cool pencil cases and fresh new notebooks plus shoes, clothes and backpacks- why can’t parents indulge a little too?
It was announced last week that children born in 2006 are now eligible to apply for the $1,200 education saving grant offered by the provincial government.
Previously the BC Training and Education Savings Grant was available to families whose children were born January 1, 2007 and later so this is great news for all of us parents who just missed the cut off because their kid was born just a touch too early.
