At Bloom Community Midwives we have created a space in the heart of the West End of Vancouver dedicated to providing personalized and comprehensive midwifery and breastfeeding care for women and their families. We work closely with you during all stages of pregnancy, labour, birth, early parenting and breastfeeding.

We offer a space for women to learn and to get the support they need with birthing, breastfeeding and parenting newborns. We host many free or inexpensive workshops on hot topics such as breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and hypnosis for childbirth.

Visits with your midwives are private and are 30 to 45 minutes long. We devote time to discussing nutrition, exercise, birth preparation, and newborn care and development.  Our clients appreciate having this time to have all of their questions answered!  We provide evening clinic appointments for those who need them.  We have an extensive library and our clients are always welcome to borrow books and DVDs or to sit with a book and a cup of tea ~ taking a break from their busy schedules.

The midwives are on-call for our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide hands on and ongoing care to women in labour.  This includes a home assessment in the early stage of labour. We offer hospital and home birth.

We care for mothers and babies until the little ones are six weeks old.  In the first precious weeks of your baby’s life we provide home visits to ensure you receive the support you need with breastfeeding and early parenting questions and challenges.

Our midwives are university educated and experienced midwives.  Our services are covered by MSP for those who have a CareCard (the BC Government`s Medical Services Plan).
