Saturday, October 9th – 9 am to 5 pm
Come celebrate our proud berry history at the 15th Annual Fort Langley Cranberry Festival on Saturday, October 9th. The fun starts at 9 am with a pancake breakfast and continues right through the day with activities for the whole family. There are contests, live music on the Main Stage, cooking demos, a fashion show and much more! Don’t forget to stroll down to the Bedford Channel to watch The Fort Langley Canoe Club races.
One of the highlights of the Cranberry Festival is the marvelous selection of products from our 80+ market vendors whether you are looking for jewelry, specialty candy, organic coffee or hand-made crafts. Our vendors are so talented and informative – a walk around the Market Place is a delightful adventure!
Movies for Mommies Cloverdale a success!
Movies for Mommies is the original Parent and Baby film event and they have been extremely successful in Vancouver with their long running bi-weekly shows at the Rio Theatre.
On September 22nd Movies for Mommies Cloverdale was welcomed by Fraser Valley parents at the historical Clova Cinema in Cloverdale for their first of we’re sure many screenings of hit movies.
The Children’s Directory was pleased to be able to send 4 of our lucky readers to the first movie at the Clova which was “Eat,Pray,Love” starring Julia Roberts.
“The movie was great. I enjoyed it & look forward to trying it again. Thanks again.” says Charlene Parker of Langley one of our ticket winners.
If you weren’t at the show last Wednesday you will NOT want to miss out on the next screening on October 6th, 2010.
Movies for Mommies Cloverdale will be showing Mama Mia! on October 6th, 2010.
Doors open at 12 noon and the movie starts at 12:30. Be sure to get there early though because MCS Photo will be on site taking your pic with your cutie for FREE! Launching our NEW Parenting Articles Section!
For those of you who have been with us since the beginning you have seen the evolution of the Children’s Directory and witnessed the numbers of changes and improvements we have made in the past few months. I am proud of what we have built thus far and look forward to the future as our vision comes to life.
We have been working towards the launch of our articles section for some time now and are so excited that it is finally here! We have excellent contributors on board to give expert advice on subjects we all have questions about. I would like to introduce you to our Sleep Expert Dana Oblman of www.sleepsense.net and our Early Childhood Education Expert Jesica Wiser, Director of Core Education and Fine Arts Junior Kindergarten (Cefa) in Langley.
We have some other great contributors coming on board in the coming weeks as well and I can’t wait for you to meet them all!

We had the pleasure of dining at the wonderful family friendly Montana’s Cookhouse in Langley this past week and WOW! We are impressed! The service was fantastic (thank you Joel!), the food was great, they have the best kids menu I have seen in a very long time, AND you get to draw on the table! All the makings of a great family night out and it’s affordable too. Whether you have a picky eater or a kid who will eat whatever is put in front of them you will have no problem finding a tasty option!
